Frankie Weeks started private voice lessons at Whole Music in 2010. Though she had no formal training, she had a good ear and no problem with pitch. EJ started Frankie with his advanced vocal exercises to correct some breath and larynx issues. Within 3 weeks -- as a result of doing the exercises religiously -- “Voila!” Frankie was rocking. She found her voice, and then, after a few more lessons on harmony and interpretation, she was on her way.
Because of Frankie’s openness, she was a perfect candidate for Whole Music’s Artist Development program. EJ spoke to Frankie about the program, and suggested they write an original song to record. Frankie’s response was ”What? I don’t know how to do that.” EJ explained, “I will show you, and we will write a song together.”
Frankie had written a poem about the loss of a close friend. EJ and Frankie took lines from the poem, created additional lyrics and worked out a beautiful story of love, loss, healing and hope. EJ had some melodies he had been working on, and they put the story to music.
In one week, the song, “Hoping for a Miracle” was written and ready to be recorded. “Hoping for a Miracle” is Frankie’s first release on Whole Music.
Frankie, 13 years old, is a real talent. Frankie is continuing in the Artist Development program, and is working with EJ on a second song.
